J.Houghton on Jim Houghton discusses the current state of agency M&A

This week on the podcast, I have an extra special guest. Jim Houghton is a Partner at Waypoint Partners, a leading growth and corporate finance advisory firm.

He starts his career at Arthur Anderson in the 90s, then moves to Omnicom, Radiate, BDO, Results International, ingenious, he becomes CFO for the agency 160over90, then onto Helion Partners.

There are only a few people who know as much as he does about the world of corporate M&A and the current landscape for agencies.  He completed 40 acquisitions for Omnicom and 20 as an advisor.

Essentially we discuss everything from what buyers look for when deciding whether to buy an agency, what value looks like and how to realise it, to the differences between US and UK entrepreneurs

We also discuss what Sir Martin Sorrel and John Wren from Omnicom are really like as businessmen and people.
